The essential oils featured in this week’s installment of 99 Bottles of Oils on the Wall are quite diverse: a blend and a single to calm, one to help the tummy, one to help rev up the metabolism and one that can help to lessen soreness.

Be sure to follow Oils & Spoils for a chance to win one of this week’s featured essential oils. Each week, Oils & Spoils randomly draws a winner from followers on WordPress and email. So far, 6 lucky winners. Will you be lucky number 7?

This Week’s Featured 5

Gently Baby:  Gentle Baby is a Young Living Essential Oils proprietary blend of Geranium, Rosewood, Coriander, Palmarosa, Lavender, Ylang Ylang, Roman Chamomile, Lemon, Jasmine and Rose. This soothing blend brings a sense of peace and calming to children and adults. Gentle Baby is also great for skin, helping to improve skin’s elasticity and diminishing those “fine lines.” Gentle Baby can be diffused, directly inhaled or applied topically (dilute 1:1, 1 part essential oil to 1 part carrier oil). Caution: Possible sun sensitivity due to citrus essential oil (lemon) as one of the blend’s ingredients.

German Chamomile:  German Chamomile has a calming aroma that can help dispel anger, stabilize emotions, soothe and clear the mind, and create feelings of peace and patience. It can be diffused, directly inhaled or applied topically “neat,” without a carrier oil. German Chamomile also helps promote digestion, liver and gallbladder health; can be used as a sleep aide and for skin problems, such as blemishes. German Chamomile can be found in the following Young Living Essential Oils products: A.R.T. skin care line, Reconstructor, ComfoTone, EndoFlex, JuvaTone, OmegaGize and Surrender.

Ginger:  Ginger is available as an essential oils single and as part of Young Living Essential Oils‘ Vitality new dietary essential oil line, which means it can be taken as a dietary supplement and to add a dash of spice to dishes. Ginger can be used as a digestive aid and to help ease sore muscles (add to Young Living Essential Oils Ortho Sport massage oil after a workout) and congestion. When diffused, Ginger has a warm, energizing aroma. Ginger can also be directly inhaled and applied topically (dilluted 1:1). Ginger can be found in the following Young Living Essential Oils products: Abundance, Allerzyme, ComforTone, DiGize, Digest & Cleanse, EndoGize, Live with Passion, Magify Your Purpose, and Ultra Young Plus.

Grapefruit:  Like Ginger, Grapefruit is available as an essential oils single and as part of Young Living Essential Oils Vitality Line and is a delicious addition to foods and water. Grapefruit essential oil is cold pressed from the fruit’s rind. Mixed with Peppermint and Lemon, Grapefruit can help with weight management. When diffused, grapefruit has an uplifting citrus smell. Grapefruit can also be taken as a dietary supplement, directly inhaled or applied topically (diluted 1:1).

Idaho Blue Spruce: When diffused, Idaho Blue Spruce has a pleasing and relaxing evergreen aroma. Idaho Blue Spruce can help with soreness and relaxation, and can also be directly inhaled and applied topically neat.

This week’s essential oil giveaway is a 5 ml bottle of Ginger. Winner will be randomly chose from Oils & Spoils followers.

Until next time, be warm and energizing, like Ginger.

June 2016 PSK

Young Living Essential Oils revealed a new over-the-counter product line at convention last week. The first two products are Cool Azul Pain Cream and Thieves Cough Drops. The process to get labeling for their Vitality dietary supplement essential oils and the Drug Facts label on the OTC line required lots of testing and questions from the FDA. Congrats!
