Welcome to the ninth installment of 99 Bottles of Oils on the Wall, where I typically take 5 essential oils down from my oil cabinet and various other places and share uses and applications of the week’s featured oils. This week I’m featuring 2 instead of 5, because (spoiler alert) next week’s 99 Bottles of Oils on the Wall is going to be all about Lavender, my absolute favorite essential oil.

Housekeeping: If you haven’t already, follow Oils & Spoils on wordpress or through email, and you’ll be entered into a random drawing for one of this week’s featured essential oils. This is an opportunity that began with the first installment of 99 Bottles of Oils on the Wall and will continue through the conclusion of the series. A nice bonus, in addition to learning more about Young Living Essential Oils singles and blends each week.

This Week’s Featured 2: An Essential Oil and Essential Oil Blend

Jasmine: Remember my admission from last week’s 67 Bottles of Oils on the Wall? Hi, my name is Kim, and I’m an oilaholic. I ask for oils or money to buy oils for birthdays and Christmases. Jasmine is one of those oils that my wonderful husband got me last Christmas. Oh my goodness, to take the top of this bottle of essential oil and to take a whiff is heavenly and just about as uplifting. I’m allergic to synthetic perfumes, but not to the scents of essential oils (thankfully). Apply a drop neat (undiluted, meaning with no carrier oil) as you would perfume. I plan to use jasmine as a base note for at least 1 handcrafted essential oils scent in a future line of such scents. Did you know it takes about 1,000 pounds of jasmine or 3.6 million fresh, unpacked blossoms to make 1 pound of jasmine essential oil? And the blossoms must be collected before sunrise, or much of the fragrance will evaporate. Which explains why good, quality jasmine essential oil can be a little pricey. In addition to being applied topically, Jasmine can also be diffused and directly inhaled. The sweet, floral aroma of Jasmine relaxes the mind and helps boost self-confidence. Jasmine also supports the skin’s appearance and is used in several Young Living Essential Oils personal care products: A.R.T. Creme Masque and Renewal Serum, Awaken, Clarity, Dragon Time essential oil blend and products, Forgiveness, Gentle Baby, Harmony, Highest Potential, Inner Child, Into the Future, Joy, Lady Sclareol, Live with Passion, Oola Balance, Sensation essential oil blend and products, The Gift, and several shampoos, conditioners, bath & shower gels, and hand & body lotions.

Joy: I use Joy every day. This Young Living Essential Oils proprietary blend of Bergamot, Ylang Ylang, Geranium, Lemon, Coriander, Tangerine, Jasmine, Roman Chamomile, Palmarosa and Rose is part of my morning routine. At the risk of sounding like a hippie or flower child, I apply it over my heart and then I apply Stress Away, another Young Living Essential Oil proprietary blend, on  my wrists and behind my ears. These 2 are my chill. Much better attitude with which to start the day. I apply Joy neat, with a Young Living Essential Oils AromaGlide, which is a stainless roller fitment. The fitments fit any 5 ml or 15 ml Young Living Essential Oils bottles with an “Sb” marking on the bottom, which is any of their bottles that contain essential oils singles or blends. Joy can also be applied topically diluted 1:15 (1 part essential oil with 15 parts carrier oil), diffused or directly inhaled. Joy produces a magnetic energy that brings joy to the heart, mind and soul. The aroma of Joy invites a sense of romance, bliss and warmth when diffused. When worn as a fragrance, Joy invites togetherness.

Because I love you all SO much, a 5 ml bottle of Joy will be given to one lucky person randomly drawn from Oils & Spoils’ wordpress and email followers. Trust me, this is serious love.

Until next time, Summer Breeze and Joy to the World.
