Welcome to the 20th installment of 99 Bottles of Oils on the Wall! What could be one of the longest running blog series is back, after a 4-month hiatus. If you’re tuning into this series for the first time, for nearly 5 months, each week, I took 5 essential oils and blends down from my oil cabinet and other hiding places, passed information on the featured 5 around, and repeated the process the following week. Obviously, I didn’t count my oils and blends before I started, because instead of 99 bottles, I had 84 bottles. So, 99 Bottles of Oils on the Wall took a break, while I explored some new-to-me essential oils and blends. Luckily, Young Living Essential Oils features 164 essential oils and blends in their ever-growing product catalog. After 99 Bottles, who knows; maybe I’ll start a 99 Bottles, Part II or The Sequel.

Disclosures and Disclaimers

This week’s featured oils are those in the Young Living Essential Oils Infused 7 collection. Infused 7 has been out of stock for a bit, and when you see the essential oils that make up these blends, you’ll understand why. Some of the plants from which the essential oils are steam distilled may go out of season or suffer from Mother Nature’s mood swings. Young Living does not change or adulterate their essential oils and blends, so the impacted oils go out of stock until the plants can be harvested again.

I don’t think I can talk about the Infused 7 without talking about the international best-selling book, Oola Find Balance in an Unbalanced World, that inspired the collection. According to the booklet that comes with the collection, Young Living Essential Oils founders, Gary and Mary Young, were on a road trip, when Mary started reading a book someone gave her. The Youngs liked Oola’s inspirational messages so much, that they wanted to share what they learned with their members. So, this installment of 99 Bottles of Oils on the Wall also features a book review. What is Oola? According to the book, Oola is “That state of awesomeness. It is when your life is balanced and growing in the 7 F’s of Oola (fitness, finance, family, field, faith, friends and fun).”

But, wait, there’s more! In order to do a deeper dive into the the 7 areas you need to balance and grow to live the life of your dreams and the 7 essential oil blends that accompany these 7 areas, I’ll post about my experience with one Infused 7 blend each week on Oils & Spoils’ Facebook page. You are welcome to join me on what is sure to be a journey of discovery, made better by the interactive nature of Facebook.

And for the grand finale, I’ll tell you how you can get the Infused 7, which will also make you eligible for some of this month’s Young Living Essential Oils promotions (freebies).

The Book Review:  Oola Find Balance in an Unbalanced World (Oola)

A few pages into Oola, and I’m reminded of a favorite book from my younger years, Illusions: Adventures of a Reluctant Messiah by Richard Bach. Oola opens with a guy who has hit rock bottom. He reaches out to a friend who has the Midas touch, you know, everything he touches turns to gold. The guy realizes it’s not just luck; his friend works hard at keeping his life in balance. What follows are the stories of the OolaSeeker and the OolaGuru, two guys with similar beliefs and aspirations, but at different points in their lives, and their journey to Oola – that state of awesomeness. Their journey includes the 7 F’s of Oola, OolaBlockers and OolaAccelorators, 3 Steps to the OolaLife, and a workbook.

I’m looking forward to working through the book and trying each oil in the Infused 7 collection. I know there are areas in my life that are out of balance. I don’t think a book and some essential oil blends are going to make everything in my life align perfectly. However, spending a little time each week, focusing on one area at a time, is a start. I’m a huge believer in progression, not perfection, when it comes to personal improvement. If you’d like to join me on my Oola journey, look for my posts on Oils & Spoils’ Facebook page and join the conversation.

Until next time, if you find yourself Between a Laugh and a Tear, well, you may have found the balance that eludes so many. Me, I’m going for Oola!
