The last few months have been challenging, and I need some happy. While this post has been brewing for a few weeks, the thought occurred to me yesterday that my happy might double as a list of potential Mother’s Day gift ideas.
Not to be cliched, but it doesn’t take much to make me happy: a comfy, colorful pair of leggings; interchangeable jewelry; skincare and makeup that works wonders; hair care; premium coconut oil; and, of course, essential oils. These are a few of my favorite things, well, maybe more than a few:
Shop from Home
Instant and renewable cheer when I pair my peacock Lularoe leggings with a yellow Perfect Tee, also by Lularoe, or a bright green T-shirt. I’d heard about how awesome Lularoe leggings are for a while, but only recently bought my first pair from my friend, Brandy, at Lularoe by Everyday Oil Solutions, Inc. So many colorful patterns and solid colors, super soft, and washer and dryer safe. I also have a Sarah cardigan that is light blue and white pinstripes, long sleeves and more like a duster on me. Always makes me feel pretty fly when I wear it. Just be warned that in addition to receiving compliments from friends and strangers, alike, they will want to feel the fabric of your Lularoes with you in them! Brandy also has an etsy site, EverydayOilSolutions, which features my favorite essential oil recipe books.
Magnolia & Vine
Magnolia and Vine is customizable jewelry and accessories. I ordered my first pieces, Curlicue Leather Bracelet, Rose Gold Perfect Circle Bracelet and 5 snaps, after noticing the eye-catching jewelry a friend was wearing. Hundreds of original and mini snaps are interchangeable in a wide variety of earrings, necklaces, pendents, rings, bracelets, pins, sunglasses, readers, purses, wallets, hair accessories, flip flops, key rings, lanyards and more. I always get compliments when I wear Magnolia & Vine, and I mix these costume pieces with the real stuff. Friends thought the Rose Gold Perfect Circle Bracelet was real rose gold; the quality is that good. I liked my first pieces so much that I became a Magnolia & Vine Style Consultant. Easy to order on my website and fast shipment. Custom (picture) snaps ordered by May 5 will arrive by Mother’s Day. Check out how you can get free and half-priced Magnolia & Vine jewelry and accessories.
Rodan + Fields
I’ve mixed things up a bit since All About That Face. I started using Rodan + Fields’ Unblemish line several months ago, and the one friend who gets to see my face close up every six weeks or so, when I get a refresh on my hair, has commented more than once that my skin has never looked better. I have the skin of a 13-year-old, but I haven’t been 13 for a while. Rodan + Fields has other skincare lines for anti-aging and soothing, as well as other products. My favorites are their Foaming Sunless Tan and Lash Boost for their easy application and effectiveness. I have two friends who can hook you up with Rodan + Fields: Margie and Julie.
A couple of years ago, I swapped lipstick for tinted lip balm or gloss. A little secret for keeping the tinted lip balm or gloss from traveling is clear lip liner. Maybe it’s not such a secret, because it’s hard to find. Avon’s glimmersticks comes in a variety of colors, including clear. Avon is known for makeup, perfumes and jewelry, but the line also features clothes, shoes, purses and more. My friend, Mary, is the Avon Lady, and you can check out glimmersticks and more on her website.
The best gourmet chocolate dipped strawberries and so much more. I’ve gifted Shari’s Berries with rave reviews, the most recent being berries and birthday cake pops. Check out Shari’s Berries Mother’s Day gift baskets here.
I’ve been using Monat’s shampoo and conditioner for volume, Replenish, for a couple of months now. I love the plant-like fragrance and natural ingredients. I’ve noticed that this line seems to benefit those with curly, damaged or sparse hair the most. My friend, Klaudya, is a hairdresser and swears by Monat. See what the fuss is about here.
Young Living Essential Oils
Young Living Essential Oils’ spring offerings are off the chain. I’m most excited to try the Lavender and Stress Away Calming Bath Bombs and the Coconut-Lime Replenishing Body Butter. I’m also giving the Coconut-Lime Body Butter as Mother’s Day gifts. The scent is light, as is the lotion. Gift for myself: one of the two new essential oil diffuser necklaces. And that roller bottle of Tranquil at the top of this post? My favorite Young Living Essential Oils blend at the moment. It does as it’s name implies. It’s no secret that I’m a Young Living Essential Oils distributor. Order retail off my website or purchase a Premium Starter Kit to become a member and save 24 percent on your kit and future orders. In addition to 11 essential oils, a diffuser of your choose and lots of other goodies, you get a free bottle of Tangerine essential oils during the month of May. You also get a goodie bag and support from me for as long as you need it. This month’s promos (freebies) are Mom-geared. Social Security Numbers are no longer required for purchases, and PayPal is a new option for payment.
Shop Out There
Epicurean Olive Oil Co.
This shop, located at The Avenue in Murfreesboro, Tenn. has the best pure coconut oil. I oil pull every day, and this coconut oil has no odor, no taste and a smooth texture. Of course, Epicurean Olive Oil Co. is known for it’s many flavors of olive oil. My fave is Butter, which I substitute for butter on English muffins in the morning and have successfully used in place of vegetable oil when making brownies. The shop also features a wide variety of balsamic vinegar and lots of If you don’t live in Middle Tennessee, you can order online here. Free shipping on orders $99 and above.
My friend, Mary, is boasting some serious lashes. She uses Lancome’s CILS Booster XL, and now, I do, too. This vitamin-infused mascara primer is available at an Ulta near you or online through Ulta or Lancome.
