Welcome to the 22nd and last installment of 99 Bottles of Oils on the Wall! This series began a year ago, with each installment featuring information on 5 or less Young Living Essential Oils singles and blends from my oil cabinet and other places I keep my stash, as well as a giveaway of one of the featured oils, randomly selected from Oils & Spoils likes and followers. I had to take a couple of breaks along the way to replenish my essential oils collection, to get to 99 bottles.

Disclosures and Disclaimers

This Week’s Featured 4:  3 Singles and 1 Blend

Cistus:  Cistus also goes by the name “rose rock” and is believed to be the biblical rose of Sharon. The essential oil is steam distilled from the plant’s leaves and branches. Cistus helps to support the nervous and immune systems and has a honey-like aroma that is soothing and uplifting, according to the Young Living Essential Oils Product Guide. However, to me, Cistus smells a little antiseptic, maybe that’s because it has antiviral and antibacterial properties, according to the Essential Oils Pocket Reference, Sixth Edition, by Life Science Publishing. Cistus can be diffused, directly inhaled or applied topically, neat (without carrier oil). Cistus is found in the following Young Living Essential Oils products: ImmuPower, KidScents Tender Tush, Oola Balance and The Gift.

Citronella:  Recognized by mosquito bait everywhere as a repellent, the insect-repelling properties of Citronella are enhanced when paired with Cedarwood essential oil. Citronella essential oil is steam distilled from the plant’s aerial parts and leaves and can also help with respiratory, digestive and skin issues. Mosquitoes love me, so I’m going to try diffusing Citronella on the back deck and let you know how it goes. Citronella can also be directly inhaled or applied topically, diluted 1:1 (1 part essential oil to 1 part carrier oil). Cintronella is found in the following Young Living Essential Oils Products: Animal Scents Shampoo and Purification. Bonus tip: I put a roller ball fitment on a bottle of Purification and roll on the bottoms of my feet to keep the bugs away. Purification is a proprietary blend of Lemongrass, Rosemary, Tea Tree, Myrtle, Cintronella and Lavandin essential oils.

Clarity:  This is the bottle I reach for when I have lots to do, and my brain is jumbled. A couple of deep inhales and exhales directly from the bottle or a drop rubbed into my palms helps me to clear my mind and focus on the task at hand. Clarity is a proprietary blend of Basil, Cardamom, Rosemary, Peppermint, Coriander, Geranium, Bergamot, Lemon, Ylang Ylang, Jasmine, Roman Chamomile and Palmarosa essential oils. In addition to directly inhaling, Clarity can also be diffused and applied topically, diluted 1:1. Caution: Possible skin/sun sensitivity. Clarity contains Bergamot, a citrus oil, which is photosensitive.

Clary Sage:  Clary Sage is steam distilled from the flowering plant and is best known for helping with female issues, like hormonal imbalances and PMS. Clary Sage also helps to support circulation and repel insects. Calming and relaxing when diffused, Clary Sage has an herb-like aroma. Clary Sage can also be directly inhaled and applied topically, diluted 1:1, and is found in the following Young Living Essential Oils products: Cel-Lite Magic Massage Oil, CortiStop Women’s, Dragon Time Bath & Shower Gel and Massage Oil, EndoGize, Estro, Evening Peace Bath & Shower Gel, FemiGen, Into the Future, Lady Sclareol, Lavender Shampoo and Conditioner, Live with Passion, Oola Grow, Prenolone Plus Body Cream, SclarEssence and Transformation.

If you haven’t done so already, like and/or follow Oils & Spoils on WordPress or Facebook for a chance to win a 15 ml bottle of Citronella, one of this week’s featured oils.

Four (4) bottles of oils on the wall,  4 bottles of oils, take 4 down, pass them around, 0 bottles of oils on the wall. I’m a bit sad, but excited, too. Sad to see this long-term series end, but excited because from this ending, comes a new beginning. Young Living Essential Oils has more than double 99 single oils and blends, and that means (drum roll, please) 99 Bottles of Oils on the Wall, Part 2 will debut soon!

Until next time, Pop a Top of essential oil!

Magnolia and Vine:   I recently became a Magnolia and Vine Style Consultant because I love the versatility and quality of this line, which features interchangeable snaps for jewelry and accessories. I’m not an arm-twister, buy-my-stuff kind of girl. If you like what you read or see on me, I’m happy to share. Magnolia and Vine launched in 2015, and in 2016, Magnolia and Vine bought Miche, the handbags with the interchangeable shells. As a former Miche consultant, I’m super excited to share that Magnolia and Vine will launch a new handbag line this summer. Since Magnolia and Vine bought Miche’s patents, I would love to see the base bags make a comeback, as this is the one item I and my customers wanted after Miche went out of business. Stay tuned, and I’ll share details as they become available. We’ve all heard “ground-floor opportunity” so much so that it’s become a cliche, but this one’s for real. Any time I wear a Magnolia and Vine piece, I get compliments. Like and/or follow Kim’s Magnolia and Vine Facebook page for a chance to win a Magnolia and Vine piece with snap that I’ll give away for each 100 likes/follows. Pictured below is one of my favorite combinations that pairs well with big T-shirts and crazy leggings: 30-inch variegated chain, filigree enhancer pendant (with magnetic bail closure) and Estate Turquoise original 18 mm snap.
